The Thanksgiving Day 5k is in its 4th year. It was started as a group run and it has grown from a few to 240 runners in 2011.
The run is held at North Beach in Racine on Thanksgiving Day morning. The course is along Lake Michigan and weather has been a mix in the past 4 years of rain, snow and sun.
It is a family event for runners and walkers alike. You don’t have to be competitive to come out and run or walk.
The runs purpose is to support three charities: Harvest Outreach Food Bank in Racine, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Team Endurance and Kenosha First Assembly Adoption Ministry.
